  • Gate opens at 8:00 A.M. Gate closes at 9:15A.M.
  • Ride leaves at 9:30 A.M. sharp.
  • Short Cowboy Church Service Prior to Departure
  • Please plan an early arrival in order to enjoy a full day in the Slick Hills of Southwest Oklahoma on two large ranches.
  • Lunch 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Return to trailhead around 4:00 PM

From scenic Meers Oklahoma follow the signs 1 mile north, then 3 miles west on Highway 115. We are holding the line on inflation. $20 recommended donation (lunch included)

  • One rider per horse

If you plan to bring your registration form and payment of fees to the ride, please email the name of each rider that will be participating to billwhiz@lawtonnet.net or call Bill Whisenant at 580-695-5986 with the names of each rider. This will give us approximate numbers for planning food requirements.

DIRECTIONS TO TRAIL RIDE

 

Coming from the South on I-44:

From I-44 exit onto OK 49 toward Medicine Park. Continue approximately 4 miles to OK 58. Turn right onto Hwy 58 which goes past Lake Lawtonka and go approximately 5 miles. Turn left onto Meers Road across from Ann’s Country Kitchen Café and go 4 miles Meers. At the stop sign in Meers, turn right which is Hwy 115. Continue around the curve on 115 and watch for signs leading to the “Trail Ride”. Continue to follow the trail ride signs for approximately 3 miles west on Hwy 115. Hwy 115 will turn north. Go approximately ½ mile north and the gate to the trail ride will be on your right. Be sure to swing wide when going through the gate. Be sure to check in at the registration table when you arrive.

 

Coming from the West on Hwy 62: (You have 2 options)

Option #1. At Cache exit onto Hwy 115 and go North through the Wild Life Refuge to Meers if you are familiar with the road system inside the Refuge. After you pass the Meers General Store and Restaurant watch for “Trail Ride” signs. Continue to follow the trail ride signs for approximately 3 miles west on Hwy 115. Hwy 115 will turn north. Go approximately ½ mile north and the gate to the trail ride will be on your right. Be sure to swing wide when going through the gate. Be sure to check in at the registration table when you arrive.
Option #2. Continue through Lawton and go north on I-44. From Lawton follow the directions for coming from the South.

 

Coming from the North on I-44:

From I-44 exit at Elgin and go West on the Porter Hill Road. Continue to OK Hwy 58. Ann’s Country Kitchen Café will be on your right. Cross Hwy 58 and continue on the Meers Road for 4 miles to the stop sign in Meers. At the stop sign in Meers, turn right which is Hwy 115. Continue around the curve on 115 and watch for signs leading to the “Trail Ride”. Continue to follow the trail ride signs for approximately 3 miles west on Hwy 115. Hwy 115 will turn north. Go approximately ½ mile north and the gate to the trail ride will be on your right. Be sure to swing wide when going through the gate. Be sure to check in at the registration table when you arrive.
